  Cheryl Keyrouze – Biography
   
Supervisor Cheryl Keyrouze is a resident of the City of Saratoga Springs, and has been employed by Saratoga Hospital since 1991. She is married to Tom Keyrouze, long time employee of Quad Graphics, Inc. and has two sons, Bill, who is in his senior year at Rutger’s University and Brian, who is in his second year at the Pratt Institute of Art.
Cheryl moved to Saratoga County in 1980, and moved to Saratoga Springs in 1990, where she became active in her community

     She has been involved in education and youth, fundraising, local government and community development. She is a Graduate of Leadership Saratoga ’96. Cheryl has taken a leave as a returning adult student at Adirondack Community College (with a 3.8 GPA and only 12 credits left!), to fulfill the responsibilities of the position of County Supervisor.  In 2005, Cheryl participated in the New York State Assembly Internship Program as a member of the office of Hon. John J. McEneny.

Cheryl is running for her 2nd term as Supervisor for Saratoga County, representing the City of Saratoga Springs. During her first term, she founded and co-chairs the Citizens Transportation Committee of Saratoga County, and is presently working with local developers and the Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation to rehab houses for affordable living. She is currently working with NYS to pass legislation in order to make Saratoga County childcare transactions electronic, affordable and more expeditious. Cheryl is also chairing New York Horse Park, Inc., a nonprofit organization, proceeding to bring a horse park to Saratoga County to enhance the local economy and protect open space.

Cheryl is a board member of the Saratoga County Economic Opportunity Council, a member of the League of Women Voters, Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee for the 18th District, and the Saratoga County Housing Alliance.

Cheryl will continue presentations at the library with different departments of county government to show how her city and county work together. Presentations have been made regarding city and county Storm Water Management, American Red Cross/Saratoga Springs Police Department, city/county history, and city/county planning.

Also during her first term, Cheryl was appointed to the NYS Association of Counties Legislative Standing Committee after graduating from the first graduating class of the Dennis A. Pelletier County Government Institute, a joint educational program of the New York State Association of Counties & Cornell University. At the county seat, she serves on the Saratoga County Committees for Legislative and Research, Insurance and Risk Management, Equalization and Assessment, and Social Programs.
